St. Mary's Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception

OCIA

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process of conversion whereby adults become full participating members of the Catholic Church through the sacraments of initiation. OCIA intends to instruct catechumenates both spiritually as well as intellectually. OCIA is for:

  • Those who have not been baptized or were baptized in other faith traditions and now feel called to become Catholic.
  • Adults or children older than 7 who were baptized Catholic but never received First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation.
  • Fully initiated Catholics seeking deeper catechetical knowledge of their Catholic Faith.
  • Anyone at all looking to learn more about Christianity

St. Mary's Cathedral is transitioning to a 2 year formation program. There will be an OCIA Informational Meeting on Thursday, September 28th, 2023 at 6:30pm in the Parish School Library, and we will begin the course on October 5th, 2023.
