Born and raised in the Midwest, Angela Westhoff-Johnson received her bachelor of music degree and a bachelor of arts in Spanish from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. When her parents moved to Grants Pass, she too came west, and received a master of music degree from the University of Oregon, with an emphasis in vocal performance. She's now pursuing a doctorate of musical arts.

She married Paul Johnson in 1994 and began work at Oregon Catholic Press later that year - while continuing to work at the cathedral. At OCP (which also publishes this newspaper), she is now a senior music editor. The company is the largest English-language music and missal publisher for the Catholic market.
